Google Creative Lab - An Assembly of Youth
A unique installation situated in the lobby of the UN building in New York that brought the personal messages of children directly to world leaders at the 2015 General Assembly.
It was launched by David Beckham, Ban Ki-moon and the UNICEF Executive Director.
The information displayed was drawn from U-Report, an SMS-based system that allows young people to speak out on the challenges they face in their homes and communities – and express their hopes for the future.
I was involved in all elements of the project, focussing specifically on creating the technology to manage the source data and manipulate it for the needs of the installation.
Media coverage was global with a total reach of 3.85 billion.
* The Assembly of Youth won a Yellow Pencil for Digital Installation Design at the 2016 D&AD Awards.
